Mitchell Technical Institute’s Power Line Construction & Maintenance program made a giant stride toward incorporating the instruction of power transmission into the curriculum Thursday, April 1. East River Electric Power Cooperative donated a digger derrick truck with a 55-foot boom to the program. The increased height is needed when servicing transmission lines. MTI president Greg Von Wald accepted the keys to the truck from representatives of East River who were on campus for their board meeting. The truck, valued at $20,000, is one of the single largest equipment donations to the Power Line program ever.
