Mitchell Technical Institute is one of the best colleges in the nation to work for, according to a new survey by The Great Colleges to Work For program.
The results, released Monday in a special insert of the Chronicle of Higher Education, are based on a survey of 236 colleges and universities. In all, 85 of the 236 institutions achieved “Great College to Work For” recognition for specific best practices and policies. Results are reported for small, medium, and large institutions, with MTI included among the small colleges with 500 to 2,999 students.
MTI was singled out for honors in two categories this year: Work/Life Balance and Facilities, Workspace and Security. The total composite score climbed three points since the survey was completed in 2018. The survey was administered to MTI’s approximately 120 employees last spring.
“We were very pleased to learn that Mitchell Technical Institute has received this honor, but our real goal is not recognition. Our employees work hard every day to continue a “culture of caring” that MTI is known for. In that sense, everyone at MTI helps to make this a great place to work,” said Mark Wilson, MTI President.
The survey results are based on a two-part assessment process: an institutional questionnaire that captured employment data and workplace policies from each institution, and a survey administered to faculty, administrators, and professional support staff. The primary factor in deciding whether an institution received recognition was the employee feedback.
The Great Colleges to Work For is one of the largest and most respected workplace-recognition programs in the country. For more information and to view all the results of the survey, visit the Great College Program website at www.greatcollegesprogram.com.
