Mitchell Technical Institute Agricultural Technology student Michelle Kats placed first nationally at the National Post-Secondary Ag Student Organization conference held March 16-20 in St. Louis, MO. Kats took first place in the Employment Interview contest. Levi Zins placed 4th in the same contest.
Other results included a fifth place finish for the Beef Specialist team. Zins individually placed 15th, Christina Stainbrook 21st, and Bryce Klostergaard 22nd.
The MTI Quiz Bowl team was ousted after two rounds, losing to the eventual champion, Parkland College of Illinois.
The students also had a chance to participate in leadership seminars and industry tours. One highlight was a private tour of the St. Louis Arch fronting the Mississippi River.
The students were accompanied by adviser Myron Sonne.
