An online instructor has been named Mitchell Technical Institute’s Instructor of the Year. Paula Schmidt, Online Medical Office Professional instructor, was honored at the all-school picnic on April 21.
Schmidt, an MTI graduate and Certified Medical Assistant, has taught the online program since 2012. One nominator said of Schmidt, “[She] is known to go above and beyond to help her students. Even when students are emailing her late at night, she is always quick to respond.” Another student said, “She is the reason I am going to graduate in May.”
Schmidt was presented with a plaque by one of her students. The award is made annually by the school’s Student Representative Board (SRB). Nominations are sought from the student body and the SRB group determines the recipient.
