MTI To Host Movie Premiere

Mitchell Technical Institute will host the South Dakota premiere of the racing documentary “Out of Nothing” on Saturday, January 10, at the MTI Technology Center Amphitheater in Mitchell.

Featuring Harrisburg, South Dakota, native Jason Omer, this film is the inspiring true story of four tenacious men who risk everything to conquer the world records of motorcycle land speed racing. This film will remind viewers how perseverance against all odds can send the most unlikely men roaring into glory. The film is produced by Ryan Stiles (The Drew Carey Show; Whose Line Is It Anyway? and Two and a Half Men) and Andrew Lahmann; directed by Chad DeRosa; and features Omer, Mark Bjorklund, Carl Bjorklund, and Bill Woods.

Also featured in the film will be several Mitchell Technical Institute graduates who were working as volunteers at the racing event when the movie was filmed.

The public is invited to a “meet and greet” with the film’s stars and production crew from 5:30 to 6:30 PM in the lobby of the MTI Technology Center.  The film will be shown at 7:00 PM in the Amphitheater.

Suggested donation for the event is $5.00 per person at the door. All proceeds will benefit the MTI Power Sports program.
