MTI’s Power Sports students and faculty competed in the Chopper Class Challenge at the Donnie Smith Bike Show in St. Paul, MN, recently. The students participated in the question and answer sessions related to judging and were scrutinized for professionalism by Industry leaders from across the Midwest.
When the ballots were tallied, team MTI had received the recycling award, the award for Technical Merit (design and engineering) and received first place in the open class competition where they compete against professional as well as amateur bike builders from across the Midwest.
In addition, the class entered the 2009 custom chopper in open class competition and placed second with that bike! MTI’s Power Sports program is developing a solid reputation nationwide and continues to grow in popularity.
