The online financial website WalletHub has ranked Mitchell Technical Institute as the #7 Best Community College in the nation based on 17 key indicators of cost and quality. Within those indicators, MTI placed second for Education Outcomes and sixth for Career Outcomes.
According to the website, “To determine where students can receive the best education at the lowest price, WalletHub compared more than 700 community colleges across 17 key indicators of cost and quality. [The] data set ranges from the cost of in-state tuition and fees to student-faculty ratio to graduation rate.”
A companion article posted by the site also listed South Dakota as having the Best Community College System in the nation. South Dakota has four technical institutes: Mitchell Technical Institute, Lake Area Technical Institute in Watertown, Southeast Technical Institute in Sioux Falls and Western Dakota Technical Institute in Rapid City.
